Liquid Diet week 1

I can't believe it has already been a week since I started my semi-liquid diet. Just a brief recap. I have a surgery date March 19th and my three week pre-op appt is Feb 27th. By my pre-op appt they would like to me have lost 25 pounds! At first I thought that was crazy, how was I going to lose 25 pounds in a month. Then I thouhght of the biggest loser, and if the people on there can lose 15 pounds in a week so can I. Well I didn't really think I would lose 15, but I actually got close. I did Slim Fast. I had tried Slim fast in the past and could never stick to it. But I guess when I am working towards a bigger goal, I can stay focus. I did a slim fast for breakfast and lunch, a fiber one bar for a snack after lunch, another slim fast or a slim fast bar or a hard boiled egg in between the time I got home from work at 4pm until dinner at 6 or 7pm, and I would have a piece of string cheese for my last snack of the day, for dinner we would have something healthy like grilled chicken breast and mixed veggies and more rice or something similar. My husband was really good abou****ching my portions and making things a little healthier for me. Bless his heart. I thought it would be a lot harder than it was to stick with it. I actually 95% of the time was NOT hungry, which really surprised me, but I was making sure I got all of my water in and I know that helped. People at work would come up to me and say "Aren't you starving?" and I was happy that I could say "You know, actually I'm not". Along with the slim fast I was walking in our work out room for 25 minutes a day and I would walk at home after my daughter went to sleep on the treadmill for another 25 minutes. The first couple of days were a little tough I will admit. I was light headed and I had a headache, but it went away after the first couple of days.  So the results after 1 week I lost...  12 POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know I without a doubt, if I stick to it I can lose the 25 pounds by the 27th, I am halfway there already!

Wow GREAT job on the weight loss!  I know it is hard. My surgery is March 18th!  I have Dr I too!!!  My diet is one slim fast for breakfast, one for lunch and then a lean cuisine for supper.  I dont get any snacks or anything in between though.  I am on day 5 and I am down about 8 lbs from the begining of the week....18 lbs from a couple weeks ago.  It is hard, but feels so great, right??  Keep up the good work!



1st goal-  Get back to my pre-pregnancy weight!

Way to keep your eye on the prize!  Everything you can do now to instill good habits will make you even more successful after WLS.  Keep up the great work and congrats on your first 12 pounds!  So very proud of you! God Bless!

All I can say is - when we're ready, we're ready!  And yeah, knowing this is a part of the journey to a bigger, better prize makes it a bit easier, too!  WAY TO ROCK IT!!!
