Hi, I am a newbie to the boards.  All  this talk about liquid diets makes me question a lot of things. I just had lap RNY on Jan 8th in Park Rapids with Dr. Daniel Smith.  He has you eat whatever you want until midnight before your surgery.  He says he doesn't want any trouble with bowl shut down. Also he had me back on solid foods at 8 days post op. I was told then that I could resume sex, start back at Curves and my Aqua classes right then if I flet like it. I have read so many other posts about liquids before surgery and for so long after that I feel guilty my experience was so easy. I can now understand why Dr. SMith is so darn busy. If he isn't doing surgery he and his staff are off to some new training.  I agreet that you need to let your doctor know.  Each certainly has their own way of doing things and it would be just awful if you are this close and things don't go well.  Sending prayers for your strength and success. Hey Taz....you CAN do it!  Your being able to get back into the pool is going to depend on whether you have lap or open.  Timing will be different.  I was told once the incisions are healed you can get back in a pool. Just ask your surgeon or his nurse, they'll let you know.
