HI Kelly!  Welcome to the boards!  This is a great place to get lots of support and information.  I am currently in the process at Fairview Southdale.  I have chosen Dr. Benn as my surgeon but haven't met him yet.  I am not worried though, with everything that I have heard here.  I have finished one month of the structured diet with two more to go.  I started the journey in Dec 2007 and I am hoping for surgery in April/May.  I am going for RNY.  I am really excited to be on this journey.  I too have preemies and I know how stressful that can be.  Feel free to PM me if you ever need to talk.

Thank you for all  your replys, and speedy at that i must add!! What is considered structured weight loss?  I have been going to see my dr for the last 6 months and the nutrionist for weight loss but have not been sucessful at all!!   I am going next week to a meeting at fairview.  I am very excited and nervous all at the same time!  It is great to chat with people who know what I am going through!! Hi Kelly, Welcome to the MN board - there's no other like the MN board!  Congrats on your decision to have surgery.  I can't help you with Fairview questions cause I had my surgery in Mexico.  I just wanted to extend a warm welcome.  This is a great place to connect with others - be on the look out for coffee get togethers, support group meetings (i.e. Park Nicollet holds them regularly and you don't have to be one of their patients to attend.), and other events that people put together.  It's a great way to stay connected and build your support system prior to surgery.  I think I can speak for almost everyone on here that the support you get from other WLS patients is uncomparable.  It really helps to be able to talk with others that have "been there, done that!" Keep us updated on your progress through this journey - we're all here for you! Take care!

Hello and Welcome Kelly, You have found a fantastic place with great people at MN OH board, I personally think its the best!! It's also a really great source of information, if you have a question or concern just post it and most of the time, someone here can help with your question or guide you to a specific source.  Looking forward to hearing about your journey, and so happy to hear your daughter is okay.
