Ran into my PCP -
I was at my clinic while my DD had some blood drawn yesterday, and my PCP happened to walk past - he looked back at me and said "Hey, Slim! How'ya doin'?"
Slim??? ME??? hmmmm... nope, not there yet. I mean, I still want to lose @ 60 more pounds. But it put a smile on my face!
He stopped to ask about my blood sugars, when my next appt. is, then suggested I stop using insulin for a week or two and track my sugars closely to see how that goes!!!
He is so wonderful. I'm so glad I found him. And I'm RELIEVED that my new insurance will still allow me to go there!!!

Very cool Darla! What a great wow moment!
Good luck on the insulin trial - I'll be praying for you to be able to get off it completely!
Did Bailey get my 2nd text message last night? I hope to see her Saturday - I miss her!!!
See ya tomorrow - with my fright on!
I forwarded your text to her phone, as she sent her message to you on mine. She kept checking, right up until bed time - "Did Tracy reply to me yet???"
I swear, she's so obsessed with her cell phone - when that girl farts, you can hear the T-Mobile jingle blow out her butt...

OMG Darla that's amazing!!! My PCP is like a friend to my husband and I...in fact we even went to a Christmas caroling thing and party at her house afterwards this yr. She's a great cheerleader for me...and she's a new pcp...not the one I had before surgery so she never saw me heavy. It's so nice when we realize our Dr's actually know who we are and care about us. Congrats on the insulin.....I've been diabetic for about 19 yrs....was on tons of insulin presurgery. I was on it for about 10 months afterwards but probably could've gone off sooner...part of the reason why a new pcp. I was never so happy to realize that I didn't need those crazy shots any more. I am now on 2 oral medications and according to my Dr I will probably never be able to be off meds totally but I don't care....just a pill instead of shots is perfectly fine with me. Good luck on your trial....just remember there are a lot of combinations of oral meds that could work for you too....even if your sugars are a bit high off the insulin you could very well be able to be off it and just take oral meds. I'm so happy for you...Isn't this just the greatest ride of your life????
