OMG What I would do for a CHEESEBURGER...HELP
So I am almost done with day two of my LD...only a month and a half left.. I am DYING for a cheeseburger. I am trying to bargain with myself and everything.... HELP. I havent done it, and my husband is home...but it just hit me like a ton of bricks. I was thinking that at least I could have a WW muffin...worth 3 points...because the WW meal I had yesterday was 8 points and the one I had today was 5 points...so it would be the same as if it came with the meal...right??? For those of you that dont know...I get 2 slim fast shakes and a WW meal or lean cuisine for supper. So should I have the fricken muffin or what? It isnt a double quarter pounder anyway...
Another question...for lap banders...at some point in my life...will I be able to have a cheeseburger again?? Or fries??? Or is it done for good? Thanks
Your behavior now is a good indicator of how you will do after.
If the muffin isnt on the list of do's........ then dont.
Its not worth it.
Tell yourself you know what a cheeseburger tastes like and you only really want it cos you cant have it.
Its the cheeseburger that got you to lap band surgery.
Good luck !

Did I read this right? You have a month and a half left on LD? That doesn't sound right.
To answer your question, yes, you will be able to eat everything you eat now with a band, just not as much. But keep in mind that some foods may cause problems....bread, rice, sugar, etc. Everyone is different. Plus, your tastes and desires could very likely change and you might find your cravings to be coffee instead of burgers, (bad example)

I think you are welcoming head hunger. It is awful! Get away from whatever it is that is making you crave a cheeseburger. It isn't worth it. Day 2 and 3 of the liquid diet are awful. But trust me, its worth all the hard work. Also, get away from the TV. You can't imagine how many tv ads with food there are.
Someone once told me that the first couple of bites of food are really all we ever need. The rest is fluff. Don't look at what you can have; look at what you need to fuel your body. WLS of any sort has its challenges. This is the first test of your will power. You can do it!!! Stay Strong!
Don't let your mind trick you into it. You won't die without it. We lived without cheeseburgers for the first few years of our lives. Waiting a few more months won't kill you - so to speak.
Stay strong! And I wish you all the continued success in this journey.

Thanks for the support. I think the worst of the craving has passed...and no I didnt have the muffin. It's funny...I was fine until my husband got home...weird. I am determined not to give in.
And as far as the LD. I guess it isnt truely a LD...but that is what she called it. I get a LEan Cuisine or Smart Ones for supper.
I am proud of you for sticking it out and not going for the muffin. I am now finding that I do believe what everyone has said that what you do before you will do after. I still find myself sneaking a taste of something that I have been craving. I live alone, but still find that I sneak with food I don't think I should have. I know that it was hard for me on the LD (although mine was only 10 days) to be around people who got to eat "regular food" but I also had a hard time with all the food commercials on TV. I hope the days get easier as you go along I think they will because a lot of the cravings will go away after you have been without them for a while especially carbs they are the worst!
Good for you for sticking to your guns!!! And -- yes you will be able to eat a cheeseburger in the future -- but one that you cooked with lean ground turkey and cheese with no bun -- and a much smaller size. Get use to the good eating habits now before your surgery -- every little bit helps!!!
Stick with it -- stop focusing on what you are losing out on and start focusing on what you are going to gain with knowledge and weight loss~~~~~~You can do it.....

Good for you for skipping the muffin. Keep telling yourself, it will make your surgery experience all the better. You need to lose the weight beforehand to make your surgery safer. As far as afterwards, you will be able to eat most of the same of foods, but as others have said, less of it. I can only eat 3-4 french fries - but that's plenty to get the flavor. I eat hamburgers with the bottom part of the bun and as long as I chew very carefully, can usually eat about 1/2 of it. There's a learning curve involved and differerent people can eat different things. But, I don't miss anything as far as food goes. The positives of losing the weight far offset any of those feelings. You are doing a great thing for you and your health! Hang in there. Jean B.
