Platue?

Well, I think I've hit my first platue... I've lost and gained the same pound all month. I'm not straying from the plan, getting in my water and protein and working out daily. Anybody have a guestimate on how long these last and/or how to break one? Thanks!!! L.

I know how discouraging that can be. The only thing I can tell you is my platau's have ranged from a couple of weeks to a couple of months. I think it's our body's way of adjusting. Good luck.

I am not short... I am fun sized!!

They will vary in how long they last.  You might want to look at what you are eating - you might not be getting in enough calories.  I know that sounds silly but if you aren't getting in enough your body could be in starvation mode and holding on to everything that you are taking in.  Worth a shot to track your calories and see if upping them a little might help. Good Luck! Jenn

How many calories a day should we be eating at 3.5 months out? I was told the amount of protein to get in and how much volumewise but no one has told me how many calories per day to consume.

I would put a call into your surgeon and ask them.  Each program is soooooo different but most of them seem to run between 800-1000 calories a day.  Plus remember just because you aren't losing pounds does not mean you aren't losing inches.  Also could be your body is just tryin to play catch up and readjust to everything. Jenn, I will do that... At best guess I'd say I've only been getting in about 400 calories each day.. I'll start logging today to double check. Thanks!

Just to update... I went to fitday and logged what I ate yesterday which is pretty much my "normal" diet... it varies very little. I consumed 888 calories for the day and burned just over 650 calories between the 3.5 mile run on the eliptical and the 30 minute routine on the  circuit training machines. Does this look about "right?" Farrah... I WILL STAY OFF THE SCALE!!!!  Sorry y'all I really don't mean to sound so whiney... I just like the rest of you still fear failure.. wow thats actually kind of hard to admit  I guess I'm starting to feel a little scared and do see that I'm obsessing about the numbers again... I wasn't doing that before. Did the rest of you go through this too?

I think that the majority of us have gone through this.  Like Farrah said stay off the scale. :)  You could try increasing your calories a little bit and see what happens make sure it is a protien source though. :)  Good Luck!

Thanks Rhonda... I'm really not being hard on myself though, I know I've lost a good deal in a short amount of time, and I know I've done well, this is so much more than I've ever lost at once before... I just don't recall ever having survived a platue before... usually when one of them hit I'd give up and say forget it... I'm determined not to do that this time. I will take your advise though and go get that massage LOL.
