I am one month post op.  But I am finding that I do not have an appetite, I have to make my self eat.  Has anyone else experienced this, and if so any suggestions?

Oh Yes I experienced it myself. Nothing sounds good, nothing tastes good.  I'm 4 months out and that has gotten a little bit better.  But not alot.  Enjoy that fact that you aren't obsessing about

food.  Because long timers have told me that you will get your appetite back. Jayne

I run into the same problem no apppetite.  However as my bariatric nurse said "sometimes you just have to do what you have to do." So I set a timer or my calander on my computer to remind me that  is time to eat , drink , stop drinking etc.  it really  helps during the week . Even if I am not feeling hungry I make myself eat so that I get my 60 gm of protien and my tool is able to work for me.  Hope that helps

Same here. I'm 3.5 months out and still usually could care less what I eat and when... I've been eating when it's TIME to eat.

I did too.  Just keep following your doctors orders!  It gets better!

Yes, this is very normal. Its amazing how things change so much after surgery. Before we were so focused on food and now its seems like just a chore.  Do what the doctors tell you to do. Its important!! Wishing you the best on your journey.

I'm 9 months out and STILL have no appetite!  I LOVE IT!  I eat because I HAVE to, not because I crave everything I see!  Sometimes when I go for too long without a meal, I can feel myself get a bit shaky, and THAT'S not particularly fun, but frankly, I hope I NEVER get my appetite back!  It's such a different way of relating to food, eating because you know you need to! WELCOME TO THE OTHER SIDE!!!

Totally normal for a lot of WLSers.  But remember that if you don't eat, you won't lose.  Sounds weird but is sooooo totally true.  So do whatever you have to do to make sure you get your protein in.   XXOO

I like the fact that I am not obsessing over food, but did you get nauseated?  Thats what I have a hard time with.
