I did my 3 month pouch test this weekend with the cottage cheese... just at 1/4 cup. I was doing 1/2 cup of tuna for lunch everyday so I backed that off to 1/4c today and I'm kinda hungry this afternoon..hhhmm seems a little fishy to me. ahh well good info to have I guess! Have a great rest of the day L.

I can understand your confusion. Maybe cottage cheese is less dense and can hold more water making you feel fuller? I'm no expert.

Since the test is to measure your pouch in a quick eating session, I don't think it is suppose to be a signal on how much to eat.  You take 30 minutes to eat so you are going to eat a little more opposed to slamming it in like the cottage cheese test.   You should use your signal -- my signal tell me when I've had enough and I'm full.  And depending on the food, sometimes it's a cup (yogurt) and other times it's 2 tablespoons (oatmeal).  Measuring your food so you don't under eat is a good thing -- starving yourself is not a good thing.  Remember -- you could grow to 1 1/2 cups at every meal and still be eating very healthy.  But if you aren't getting enough, your body will stop losing just like before. Just my $0.02 worth.....

well my weightloss has slowed WAY down, I'm only 3 1/2 months out and this month for example I've only lost like 2 pounds. I'm not snacking, I'm eating my protein first, getting in water, and working out everyday! It's kind of frustrating. When I went in for my 3 month apt. Dorothy told me I should be at 1/4 cup of dense protein... I do eat till I feel that funky pain in my chest and burp and I don't eat longer than the 30 minutes... as far as i can tell I'm doing everything by the book I just dont know what the problem is.

Lisa, MEASURE MEASURE MEASURE!!!   You don't want to be eating MORE than you're supposed to at your stage, but you don't want to be eating less, either.  Too much = less weight loss.  Too little - less weight loss. Go figure, eh?   You also need to consider the old stand by - you usually lose pounds OR inches, but not at the same time.  And if you're working out a lot, you're building muscle, which weighs MORE than fat, so while your body is tightening up, the numbers aren't going down.  We need to get past the scale as our only measure of success!   You look MAHVELOUS, Dahling!  (And you sing real purdy, too!!!  )

I know on a quarter cup I'm hungry again in a couple of hours, but I'll try upping my water intake and see if that helps. I didn't think about the muscle weighing more and I am starting to see muscle under the charpei thighs, jelly belly, budha butt and angel wings LOL. OK OK scales going back in the closet.. damn evil thing... BTW you sing extra purdy yourself lady! Now if I could only dance like Kat I'd have it made HEHEHE!!!
