Ever since......

I had my tooth pulled (almost a week ago), I have had pouchy issues!  It was painful to eat the first two days (had trouble opening just to get a baby spoon in my mouth).  Then I started to eat....slowly adding food from full L to Soft to normal.  Well, I have hurled every day since!  Pouchy is sooooo touchy!!! Grrrrrrr!  I also noticed that I can't eat my normal amounts yet!  I am lucky to get 1/2 to 3/4 c in!  Before the tooth I could get my cup in.  Not that I am too concerned just wondering if any of ya have experienced this?  Is it normal or is it something else (like nerves causing me not to eat enough)????  Thanks You all are the best!

I'm doing great with fluids!  I'm starting to think it is the combo of the tooth and the nerves of all that I got going on. Sure stinks!  But I feel great other then pouchy is grouchy!

Sorry, Darlin', I have not experienced anything like that after dental work. (Not sorry that I haven't had troubles--sorry that I can't offer advice!)   Maybe the painkillers have upset the pouch? A few people in the Thunder Bay WLS group have had problems with  their dentures not fitting correctly after they lost a bunch of weight---but that doesn't sound like your problem. Anyway--(((BIG HUG))) to you! **SUE**

Hi HON!!!  I only took pain meds the first night and tylonal there after.  I am scared to take pain meds as they constipate and BEEN THERE DONE THAT HOSPITAL GAVE ME A BED thing!!!  When I first started soft foods I had grouchy pouchy syndrome maybe it's deja vu for pouchy......STINKS!

Well thats good at least you know you won't end up dehydrated anyway! The combo of nerves, lost tooth and pain meds would be my guess too but if it doesn't let up in a day or so I'd sure call someone. Take care doll Hugs!

UGH! Tooth pain is bad enough but then to add a grouchy pouchy. I am sorry you are not feeling well, at least you are getting fluids in so that is good. I would think Lisa is on to something with the combo of meds for your tooth stuff or maybe you got a bug too. Hope you feel better SOON!!
