How to deal with no snacking!?
So today I went to see my dietician. She says that everything is looking good except my snacking. If I can get that under control, then my next appointment with her should be my last. Then I get to talk to the surgeon.
I'm wondering how other people have dealt with quitting snacking before surgery. Any tips?

Is it a question of what you snack on or WHY you snack? Because some "nuts" say even though the sugar free popsicle is sugar free...you're still snacking....feeding that hunger, whether you're making a good choice in food or not. So ask yourself....why do I want to eat this? Is it because I'm REALLY hungery, or is it because I'm bored, stressed, etc. And then deal with the real issue.
Hope that helps.

2014 update...regained but haven't lost faith.
Snacking is a tough thing to quit. I don't snack very often but I do occasionally. Mostly because I want to get my fruit in. I am too full after I eat my protein.
It does get easier all the time...find something you like to drink
that satisfies you. Working on it now will help later. Keep your eye on the prize!! This is all about making good and healthy changes.
Good Luck....connie d
this is a tough one for me too. I'm going to start chewing gum, drinking more water, and try to keep myself occupied. This is the hardest, hardest thing ever! Also, make sure your regular meals are full meals. My problem was that I hate little meals that never really filled me up so I was always starving!
Someone here recently shared what I thought was a rather profound bit of advice. I THINK it may have been Linda Ann, but I'm not certain. Forgive me for that - but the bit of advice was something like this:
Whenever you want to put something in your mouth, make yourself count to 10 first.
How BRILLIANT is that? In those 10 seconds, (not 12345678910, but 1....2....3....4.....) ask yourself if you're making a good choice? Do you need it, or do you WANT it? Will it help you reach your goal, or will it make you feel horrible - guilty - like a failure? Believe me, I need to practice this myself.
But seriously? I think that is borderline genius.
