I had my surgery on Thursday morning, and I still feel very sore.  I am still way bloated, and my stomach feels queezy.  I have not had a bm in seven days.  Is that possibly why?  I don't know, my incision sites also still hurt.  Someone help and fill me in, on what I should be expecting?  Thanks for your help.  Kim

Kim, I wish I could help you out!!  Did you walk alot  and drink alot right after the surgery?  This helped me out alot!!!!  Your bm will be somewhat like a wet fart "right Darla".  My incission sites are still alittle tender and I just took off the steril strips today.  I hope You feel better soon this Tool is and amazing thing. You should be having a follow up visit right about now. It took me about 10 days to feel good again. But I would call you doctors office if you feel something isn't right.

I WAS UNCOMFORTABLE FOR ALMOST 3 WEEKS AFTER MY OPEN RNY - I WOULD WALK AND SLEEP FOR THE THREE WEEKS AND THEN ONE DAY I WAS FEELING MUCH BETTER. YOU HAVE HAD MAJOR SURGERY, YOUR INNERS ARE NOT HAPPY AND NEED TO REPAIR. TAKE YOUR TIME IT WILL ALL COME TO YOU. WELCOME ABOARD THE LOSER BENCH

What you're feeling is probably normal - however, if you're feeling nauseous this can mean that you're starting to get dehydrated - force yourself to drink through it even if you feel nauseous - there's been quite a few people lately that have had to get IV fluids because of dehydration.  The no BM is fairly normal - liquid in liquid out - there's not much going into your body that can create a BM at this point.   My suggestion is sip, sip, sip, sip, sip, walk, sip, sip, sip, sip, sip, sip, rest, sip, sip sip sip sip, walk, sip, sip, sip, sip, sip, rest, sip, sip, sip, sip, walk....I think you get the picture. Take care of yourself and if you don't improve in the next day or so - talk to your doctor. Good luck!

I am 13 days out and started back to work today.  I do still have some pain under one incision site and know this is normal from the deep suture he puts in to prevent hernias.  I had a BM on day 7 - soft, but not formed.  I think you are very normal at this point.
