Question regarding hair after surgery....
Erika,
I would check with a hair salon, or a couple of them too see what they recommend.
They are schooled about these types of things.
For example, women's hair changes when she is pregnant as well, so perms don't always take...this is what I have heard a beautician say.
There may be some factors with the anesthesia that may not allow color to take to your hair.
I tried to google it, but didn't really come up with good results.

Hey Erika
I just colored mine for the first time since surgery last Thursday. I'm starting to lose it (was doing that before I colored it) and the color has stayed fine for me.

Erika,
I'm a licensed Barber and have been doing hair for 25 years. Color your hair whenever you want to do so. Your hair is dead once it exits the scalp. Think of it more like dying fabric. I know coloring my hair made me feel better in the beginning.

Color and strut your stuff baby!!!
I colored my hair about three weeks after surgery and it was fine. My daughter also does hair and she said it was fine and not to worry so I did and it was great feeling.....I'm three months out and just started the hair loss and still colored my hair the other day.
