Dexatrim after WLS?

Anyone try this after WLS? Does it work? I'm having a lot of hunger, and I'm trying to find something to counteract it. I know the Prozac I'm on causes hunger too, but I can't go off of it.

Please spay and neuter your pets!

Hmmm...I don't have an answer...I'm on prozac too and couldn't understand the feeling like I need to eat so much....maybe it's that....I'm interested in seeing what others have to say as well....I'm a year out and considering something like that to lose my last 20 to goal. Sorry I didn't answer....but I have the same question.

We all have the same question!  I saw an ad for it the other night & was wondering the same thing.  I am hungry too, but I am sabotaging myself - stuffing & have gained a total of 10 lbs.  (gained 13 & lost 3 of them). REALLY want to get rid of the rest! Trying to get back to basics. Anyone know about using diet aids???

Hi guys!! i don't know the right answer to this either...i think you should ask your health care provider what he/she thinks.  My first thought was "Oh no, bad idea." only because it scares me thinking about all the crazy "diet" things I did in the past...I don't ever want to go back there.  But I suppose like anything else, with moderation it may be okay.  if in doubt...ask a professional.   Let us know what you find out. My personal opinion: no. no. no no no . Change up the antidepressant?? I have been on a lot of antidepressants in the past, so I am wondering if you could change to another one? Celexa is AWESOME, I took it before Prozac and I only went off of it because I was getting prepared to conceive (which never happened)-and now I take Effexor-which is awesome and Celexa together.

I'm only coming up on 9 months out so I'm sure my perspective isn't the same as yours, but I'd be inclined to say NO!!!  Isn' it those fad diet tricks and pills that brought many of us to WLS in the first place!  Maybe they'll work in the short term, but is that what you want?  A short term fix?  If you decide to STOP taking it, will the same old issues pop back up and the extra pounds pile back on?  I've gotta guess they would.  WLS is a change of lifestyle, a change in our relationship with food.  Even if the anti-depressants are causing the excessive hunger, taking a pill isn't going to fix it for good.  You need to find strategies to beat it without pills or magic potions.  Drink more.  Knit.  Take up stamping or scrap booking or exercising, anything to take your focus off food!  I just hate pills.  They did more harm than good when I tried them - and I didn't try many for that very reason.
