Ok ya ya I know you have all not seen much of me but I need some help getting back on track.

I have a new job and need some help with eating lunch. I am not very good at bring my own food so we are always going and grabbing some thing aka fast food. I am in some need of some creative things to bring for lunch so I don't get board with lunch. Thanks Tiffany

forget the fast food - there's very little that's actually good for you, and the cost is ridiculous! Some ideas: individual tuna packets (cups or pouches), mix with a little LF mayo, and dip soy chips in it.   Frozen meals such as Lean Cuisine - leave out the carb component as much as possible.

Vegetable beef soup, with some cheese melted into it for extra protein (AND 'cuz it's yummy that way!) chicken anything! hard boiled eggs - or deviled, if you like. beef jerky chili apple slices with peanut butter

Great to see you again, how are thing going otherwise? don't have much advice as I do eat lunch out everyday, but I try and have subway taking off the top piece of bread or soup, chicken is always my back up or a salad I do have soups and hot cereal in my drawer and that's been a lifesaver too. Or something I'm really bad about coffee for lunch but that's only when I have a huge breakfast around 9:30 at work we have our own cafeteria so we have a nice variety.

A variation of hard-boiled eggs are pickled eggs.  They are easy to make and quick to pack.  I like to add finely chopped Habenero chilies to the batch for some kick.  My wife and daughter can't get enough of them.  We make batches of 18 and they last about 2 weeks. Quick proteins are the best.  Get a variation of things like cheeses and meats.  I like various hams and other preserved meats.  But be careful. Some are high in salt and fat.  Use them for different flavors against some of the bland things like soy crisps (blech!) I also like to have a serving of fruit as a balance.  Grapes are great. Different colors, different flavors. Small packaging helps.  I use the Gladware(tm) 4 oz containers.  Bring your own food will add up quickly versus eating out.

One of my favorite "on the go" lunches is the Grilled chicken snack wrap at McDonalds and a side salad. I take the chicken out of the tortilla and cut it up over the salad. It's delicious!

For cheapness and somewhat nutritious meals that are hot I do soup, the thick stuff and weigh****chers frozen microwave meals.  (super cheap at walmart, like $1.56 each!) I also will bring cottage cheese and leave at the work fridge, string cheese, peanutbutter, tuna packets, crackers.  All work as snack or meal for me.  If I know I'll be "on the run" I keep a couple pre-made protein shakes in the fridge too.  No fridge?  No problem...there are lots of little insulated lunch bags and ice packs to keep things cool available!

Two of my favorites are refried beans with cheese (Taco Bell) and Chili with cheese (Wendy's). I could live on those two things alone!!  String cheese is a great snack or almonds. Hugs, connie d
