Marsha,
Ok, you are where you are. You've beaten yourself up and now it's time to move on. You know what you did and now you need to find something else to do when those emotion**** Maybe a work-out tape you can play while the kiddies sleep? Something, anything. I know you're at a disadvnatage because you can't pack up and leave, so you need to do a little planning when the food calls you. Your doctor gave you the OK for soft foods right? You won't screw things up by trying them. I just started soft foods this week and tried some chicken meatballs with moz cheese and a little marinara sauce. It was yummy and ever so satisfying. It took me 40 mintues to eat it but what the heck. It felt so different to chew.....I almost forgot how. It sure takes alot longer now though. I had a boiled egg with a little mayo and paprika for a change and tonight I'm having fish. I'm lovin the variety I get now and it brightens my day. Remember, I'm one of the unlucky ones that does get hungry. Give yourself a break today and realize you've come so far in a short time and you would be the first to ask all of us to forgive ourselves for the slips we make. We love you Marsha and you need to too. If you think you need help dealing with this and you think it will be an issue in the future find a professional to talk to before it gets out of hand. I know what you're probably thinking......this is the way it all started. Pick yourself up and dust yourself off! I think your tummy is just fine it's the thing that sits on your shoulders that's giving you problems. Bonnie
I dont think its the "what" you ate ( although not good) its the mindset you had. This will creep in again... if you let it. Im assuming there was sugar alchohol's in that sundae... and if you didnt dump you might not have issues with sugar, which will make turning down those kind of temptations hard. PLEASE try to remember that you had SURGERY... to change this..it didnt change your brain. You will have these obstacles come up again.. its time to start getting our brain trained a new way. I dont want to sound harsh....just dont do that to your pouchy... its way to early to begin experimenting. :) Linda
