Okay my dear OH family, help me figure this one out. I have to go get my driver's license renewed today or tomorrow.  For my entire driving career, the weight I had on my license was a whole lot LESS than what I actually weighed. (It has read 190 when I was 250, it reads 260 now, even tho I WAS as high as 377.)   Now I weigh less than what's currently on my license!  So... what do I put down for my weight?  If I put the 250 I'm currently at, it'll be a lie before long.  But do I put down my goal weight, knowing I'll get there eventually?  I mean, I really don't have a "GOAL" weight, but figured maybe I'd put 180?  or should I just go with 200? What a ridiculous (but GOOD!) dilemma!! OPINIONS APPRECIATED!

I just had the same dilemma - i had to renew my license in december - knowing full well that I wouldn't be that weight (or at least the weight I put down) for long.

So I put down 250 even though I am almost 300 - but when I get down after surgery - i am going to misplace my license and get a new one made.

I have to renew mine in march, and finally, for the first time EVER, I also weigh less than my DL!!! I am putting my goal weight on the app....that way, its just another goal...and sooner, or later, it will be true!!!

Miss Darla, After having met you a couple of weeks ago, my guess would have been 170. I'd put that down as your weight then go have it changed when it's too much. What a great dilema! Hugs. L.

Love your dilemma & you will have to let us know what you decide! I, too, have to go in this week for a renewal & have decided to update my weight and put my current weight on it. Sucks to tell the truth about that number, but I want it to look back on a year from now or two! Just remember to smile pur-dy and say "CHEESE"!

I'm so glad you asked this I have to renew mine by next week and I was wondering the exact same thing. I have 200 currently on mine and I'm 252 but know it will be lower soon. And I hate to have to pay again for another. I'm pretty sure I will put lower like 190.

When you call and ask at the Eagan place on Cliff Road, they say it is at your discretion -- if you want a new picture, they'll give you a new picture.  And you pay the renewal fee.  So I'd guess if you have a weight loss and want a new weight on your license and a new picture, they'll do it there. But -- what if, GOD FORBID, you had an accident and they had to do medical stuff on you.  Number one, you are a diabetic, and number 2 you've had RNY surgery.  Based on the weight on your license, what bad could happen (cause you know it won't be good!!!)?  Would they give you too much of something because your weight is high, or too little of something because your weight is too low.  I'd hate to think they could have given you a little more of a heart stimulating medication, or insulin, but because you put too little weight down, it wasn't enough.  Or, you don't have the correct weight and they give you too much of something and it kills you.

If I were you, I'd leave that space blank on the application and ask at the window how much the weight can vary as you progress through your diet.  I bet if it is a woman, and you tell her you have already lost 100 pounds and it is suppose to go another 50-75, she'll have an answer for you.  Better truthful than sorry....... XXOO  -- Congrats to you that you have to worry about this!!!!

When I renewed mine in October I put my current weight.  I figured for once in my life I was going to be honest about it and then I could always say I weighed less than my license instead of the lie I was always doing with putting a much lower than actual weight on there. To just get a pic update or weight update I'm pretty sure it only costs $8 to update it and get a new card so it's really not a big deal to update it every year.  You still have to totally renew it when it expires - but what the heck  $8 is practically the new nickel candy machine these days!!! Have fun with it regardless of what you do! love ya girlie!

Well, I went in over my lunch hour and did the renewal.  Thank you all for your thoughts, it's given me some things to consider! I put down the weight I think I want to be at (but won't really know until I get closer to it).  185.  Gives me something to shoot for!  And being 5'11", that's got to be in a healthy range!  (I'll go calc my BMI at 185...) Wow.. I'm about 2/3 of the way there already!  C'MON, ONEDERLAND!!! is anyone else noticing that these posts aren't even CLOSE to being in order???  This is the most current one, showing up in the MIDDLE of the thread!!!

I know I'm late responding, but had to put my 2 cents in....

put your "goal" weight in there - it won't be long until you will be there anyway!

Talking about licenses - in WI we only have to renew every 8 years now, so I don't have to renew until 2012.  I now, officially, weigh less than what it says on my drivers license.  I have had it set at 220 for years - and I am at 118!!!!!
