Down 100#.....but unhappy.

I just wanted to share, or maybe get a pep talk. I am down 100 # as of today and I know I should be happy, but I am just feeling blah. I have a call into my Dr. to see if I can increase my anti-depressant. I know others have done that, I think it might not absorb right? I hope he will work with me on that. I also don't know if it's just a PMS thing (sorry guys) but I think that is worse since the surgery, and this is the week. Anyway, just feeling sad today. Thanks for the pep talk.

Hey Laura ~ WTG on the 100 lbs lost!!!! That is just amazing! The PMS has sucked royally for me since surgery too, so your sooo not alone in that little PMS boat. the only thing that seems to help it is working out, I dunno if that would help you too? Hopefully the doc can increase the meds for you and that will help. In the meantime please try to focus on the celebration for the amazing job you've done so far with your tool, how far you've come in just a short time and that you have not only your family but your OH friends/family that are always there for you. HUGS lady.  L.

Hi Laura,

Glad you're in touch with your doc about this.  Sounds like you're doing the right thing.  I haven't had surgery yet but you have lost weight awfully fast, haven't you?  Over 100 pounds in fourteen weeks seems very fast.  Like I say, I'm not even on that side of things yet, but I just wondered.

Hope you're feeling better soon and able to enjoy this huge achievement.

Laura!!! I'm SO sorry to hear that you're having a tough time with your depression today.  Just remember that your hormones are going insane because of the weight loss and that could have a lot to do with what you're going through and not just the depression.   On the other hand - CONGRATU frickin' LATIONS on the 100 pounds - in such a short period of time no less!  Oh I wish I could give you a big hug right now!  You're doing fabulous!!!  I think you might have set some sort of record!!! Doing the happy dance and jumpin' for joy for ya! Keep your chin up - remember with depression it's one day at a time - tomorrow your whole mood could turn around! Love ya girlie!!!

Laura!  WOW I hardly recognized you!!!  You are going to town with your weight loss!!  Yep, as the others have said...your hormones are on a roller coaster now, but fear not, they will finally become "normal" again!  But in the meantime, give yourself a HUGE pat on the back for your success!!!  Keep it up!!!!

Hey Laura    You've already got a good plan in place, always start with your Dr. Can I make a small suggestion, honey?  GET THEE TO SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS!!!  Believe me, I understand how NOT EASY that is - with kidlets and a full time job and a fairly lengthy drive, to boot.  But you know that it's important, too.  You are obviously quite successful in the weight loss department, but you can't possibly find the understanding and unconditional acceptance, friendship and even LOVE anywhere else.  We get the ups, we get the downs, and I truly believe, in my heart of hearts, that it's important enough to make it a PRIORITY - at least once a month, if not twice.   Yes, work schedules can get in the way, as can many other things.  But on those PNC nights when there are other things going on, I simply hand the reins to my husband and tell him HE has to deal with it, that I need to go to my support meeting.  He's been 110% cool with that, although he did ask me last week if I plan to go forever, or if it'll die down.  I told him my INTENTIONS are to go forever!  Will I?  Time will tell.  But I totally plan to.  I know some individuals who have had issues further out than me, who DON'T go to any kind of support meeting.  I spent 45 years obese.  I plan to spend the next 45 as healthy as possible!   Then when I'm 90?  BRING ON THE CHEESE CURDS AND BON-BONS, BABY!!!

Congratulations on your 100 weight loss!  It is melting off!  I'm sorry you are down and hopefully your Dr. can help you?  Do you see a counselor?  I see one and think it's a great thing non only pre-op but with your post-op journey as well. Good luck! (((Hugs))) Michelle :)

Hey Laura, I know how you feel. You have done such a great job and you look absolutely fantabulous!!!!! But then theres PMS, depression, maybe even some SAD involved??? So, we need to have a coffee in Chaska again real soon.....maybe twice a month!!! When is the next one scheduled? I certainly need the "bonding" time to reinforce why I did this and to keep me on track. Let me know. Hang in there, it can only get better!!! Phyllis
