Hey Lisa!  I had to have the sleep test also.  Sleep Apnea is also considered a co-morbidity.  They just need to know as you stop breathing while you sleep.  Don't worry!  The test is ok and it won't cause you not to have the surgery.  Since I have lost weight my sleep apnea has gotten better.   I actually feel like I get sleep now!  Not as tired, can actually get up in the morning!  Just one step in the process, and like you said, something you answered and they jusst want to make sure!

I had to do a sleep study as well - I believe it's automatic with PNC if your BMI is over 50.  I have always snored, but they said I only had a very minor case of apnea, and I did not have to go on the CPAP machine.  My hubby said my snoring was completely gone about 3 weeks after surgery!  Now I only snore if I have a code....   As for the sleep study itself?  Yeah, I got about 103 minutes of sleep that night.  Strange bed, felt like a science experiment, and they kept asking me to sleep on my back.  I DON'T SLEEP ON MY BACK!!!  We need you to.  BUT I DON'T SLEEP ON MY BACK - I CAN'T!!  Well, just try.  FINE.   When the doc came in to look at the results with me, guess when my "apnea" was the worst? Yup.  When they had me "sleep" on my back!  Funny thing is, NOW I SLEEP ON MY BACK ALL THE TIME!!!     Good luck with that, Lisa - It's just another experience on the road to WLS!!!

I had a minor case of apnea, which I guess has cleared up after surgery.  At least my daughter didn't compain about my snoring over the holidays, LOL Think of it as a treat - the rooms are super and the staff is great! No kids or hubby for a night, just YOU!

I had it too prior to my surgery.  I'm fine now.

I did find out from my last surgery that the anestesiologist is very interested in if you have sleep apnea because it helps him determine what he needs to do while you're under. To bad the CPAP machine is considered a "perscription" otherwise you could have mine, since I haven't used it in over a year!

Heya LJ I had to have the sleep study too. (hope you get Justin as your tech hubba hubba LOL) I had a mild case of apnea too, just another co-morbidite to add to the list. I got the lovely CPAP but I haven't worn it since about 4 weeks after surgery. the hubs says I don't snore anymore except when I've got a cold (which I'm just getting over)  The study is interesting thats for sure! Good luck hon... one more hoop to go throug thats all.

Hugs ~ Lisa
