Honeymoon phase

I think I am in the honeymoon phase now that everyone has talked about. I feel more comfortable than the last 2 months when I was living in fear that this wasn't going to work. Now I feel like actually talking about the surgery. So how long does this wonderful phase last, and what phase comes next?

Here comes Darla with her opinions again... I don't think you're in the "Honeymoon phase" as you describe it.  I think you've simply come to some kind of comfortable acceptance of what you've done, and are beginning to enjoy it and feel less self-conscious talking about it!  And I'm not so sure it's a phase, I think it's one of the things we learn as we go. I've always thought the "honeymoon phase" meant the first 18-24 months after surgery, when weight loss comes at it's "easiest" - our tools are at their most effective during that time, and it's when we want to focus on getting all our excess weight off!  Because as I understand it, beyond that 24 month mark, losing becomes a bit more difficult than it was DURING those first 24. Of course, this is just MY perception, I hope some folks who are further out will elaborate.

Laura! You are getting so skinny. Are you going to be at group tomorrow. It's be nice to see you. I haven't seen you in a while.  As for the HM phase- I think Darla hit it right. I'm glad to hear you are feeling more comfortable. I know how nervous you were talking about it with people (people not here, anyway).  Keep up the great work! Hugs, Lori

YOU are doing an excellent job!!!!  I agree with Darla, though I thought the honeymoon phase was like 12-18 months.  But either way, I believe its referring to the actual weight loss vs. emotional side of it.  Like you, I am definitely more comfortable talking with people at work and telling people what I have done.  Especially everytime I turn around someone there is making good comments on the weight loss.  As far as what comes next, hmmm......good question, hope someone knows, LOL.
