OT- new pmd needed
Ok! I was hoping if I chose the highest premium insurance with my new job I'd be able to stay with Park Nicollet. Unfortunately, none of the plans allow me to continue with that program. I'm so sad to leave my primary physician. He knows me so well. Now I have to get someone just as good as he is. Does anyone know of a good pmd within the Health East/North Memorial/Fairview system? I need someone who is patient and willing to take time with his/her patients. I don't like to feel rushed. I always say, "a good doctor is one who is usually running behind." Because that is a doctor who is willing to take the extra few minutes to make sure all questions are answered, and all t's are crossed.
Thanks for your advice in advance.
Hugs,
Lori
Lori, I know that choosing a doctor is a very personal decision. Perhaps many people will say that their doctor is the best. You have however described my Doctor. Dr. David Johnson who is at the Fairview Eden Clinic. Always Late!! But, he takes so much time to ensure that you have all of your questions answered and that you are clear in what is happening with you. He does have a few patients who have WLS surgery.
Good luck on your search.
Sounds like you'd LOVE my PMD - Dr. David Nelson at France Avenue Family Physicians. He spends an incredible amount of time with me and is an extremely compassionate human being. I've gone through a fair amount of doctors because they were all preachy about my weight. But Dr. Nelson has never treated me disrespectfully and has been extremely helpful throughout my weight loss surgery journey.

I know your pain becasue I am going through the same thing myself. after having the same doctor for over 20 years He up and quit and I really feel the reason was that he was burnt out from working all the time and needed a change. We miss him because he was just like you described. He was the type that would call us at home at 6:30 or 7:00 to see if the medication that he precribed was working. But then how can you have any kind of life when that happens being at the clinic so late. I wish I could find a great doctor taking patients south of the river that was as great as him. Good luck
Jim
