Post ops - Do you remember? Exercise....UGH!
I went to Lifetiime Fitness tonight...I do love being a member there...BUT.....as I was taking part in a class and saw myself smack in front of the mirror, I became a bit bewildered, bugged*, chagrined, confounded, confused, crushed, discombobulated*, discomfited, disconcerted, disgraced, embarrassed, fazed*, fuddled, humbled, humiliated, mortified, rattled, red-faced, shamed, shy, taken aback!
I had to modify most of the moves due to my knees hurting. My tummy got IN THE WAY......I was the largest one in class. Do you remember? I'm sure you do!
I WILL go back, I was glad to be there, yet so many feelings went through me as I trudged through the hour long class. I look forward to being in a much better place soon!
"Cheers" to all of you who are there now, where you are comfortable and can move. To the rest of us......we'll be there in no time! Thanks God.....really praise Him! I don't how I could spend the rest of my life feeling like this!

Well good for you for going!!!! And for saying you will go back -- most important part!!!
You will need to exercise at least 4 times a week to get the weight off faster and keep it off later. I'm so glad you are going now so it becomes a habit now and not when you feel you have to later.
XXOO to you GF!!!
Boy, I sure get mix of those feelings when I work out at the Gym. It seems that I'm always the biggest one. I can not go as fast as those 'Skinny" people so I always try to over do it so I can someone compete. The odd thing is that I'm probably the only one thinking about me being the biggest, the slowest, and etc. They are probably to wrapped up in their work outs.
Congrats on saying you are going back. I always say the hardest part about working out is getting there. Take care,
It was aweful....I could just cry right now thinking about how sick I am of this extra weight. I know people aren't looking and I really don't care about the others........I am just so sick of it all......what a freedom it will be to get rid of the excess chub. It was an experience for me today. I would think you post-ops can remember how hard it was to do things when it came to exercising. My hubby asked me to play our new Wii with him last night....cute man, I would have loved to say yes, but my feet hurt so bad I honestly couldn't stand up anymore. :O( I am looking so forward to this WLS tool getting me on the road to a better healthier life!
Linda, You lost all that weight without exercising. What the heck.......you lucky gal!
Lisa,
Great job to get to the gym and do that class! And you plan to go back that is even better! I need to get exercising more, that is the toughest thing for me to get on top of. I do have my treadmill at home in our bedroom and I took it down on Friday and tomorrow morning I am planning on getting up when my hubby leaves for work and get walking!
Soon, who knows, you may be the one up there teaching that class you are taking right now.
It was good to meet you in person! Hope to see you again soon!
Take care,
I too have this wonderful $800 treadmill in our bedroom, why oh why can't I get myself on it? I am losing weight at a rapid pace so losing weight is not what is going to motivate me. Can anyone tell me if, after losing almost 90 pounds and seeing lose flabby skin all over my body, if exercise will actually help to firm up much of the excess skin? That would be the motivator for me, I think.
Good for you for getting to the gym. Who cares what others think ~ you may be surprised they may be thinking you go girl! I know exactly how you feel though, I have the same issues and then I think thank God I can move and exercise even if I look like crap I know it will be key in the weight loss and maintainance so I need to get with it as well.
Hang in there!
