Gala 2008 at Christmas ?

I got a note in a Christmas card from someone saying the Gala is the week before Christmas this year.  Someone please tell me this is not true!  We always go to CA the week before Christmas to see the grandkids.  Even if we didn't I wouldn't have the money to spend on tickets, a dress, shoes, hair etc for the Gala that close to Christmas.  Can someone who visits the other board on Yahoo let me know?  I assume that's where this person got her info and I'd like verification if possible.  Thanks!  (I'd go look myself but I'd have to register with OSSGMN on Yahoo again as I haven't been to that site in years.)

I tried to do a search to see if I could find any info for you.   All I could find for 2008 was a message with a survey attached as to when people would like it to take place as well as what types of activities etc...     Dec wasn't a month on the survey so let's hope that's not the case.   I would love to try to go this yr and Dec would never work for us.

Hi, Not true! The Gala will not be in December. Most votes were for Fall/November, and it is our goal to find a November date. We are trying to avoid deer hunting weekends and still hold it on a Saturday night if we can get one at a fair enough price at the Radisson, otherwise we will try for a Friday night or at another hotel (ideas for this are welcome!). I know you have a meeting this week and cannot make it, but this Tues night is our initial 2008 Gala meeting. I am going to post a meeting reminder to all on OH now. Volunteers will meet again in Feb some night, and I hope we have a date to announce by then. By the way, it sure sounds like fun going to CA for Christmas to see the grandkids! Thanks for the update and for saying that the Gala is NOT the week before Christmas.  We have a meeting on the 8th I believe, and the 15th I may not have a car as I have to take hubby's car to the shop and he will have mine.  It will depend on how fast the repairs can be made as to if I have wheels or not.   Ca is fun but not any rest to be had that's for sure!
