Struggling with milk
I don't mind drinking milk, but it gives me gas something awful, too! I used the Lactaid chewables, which seemed to help a bit, but the Lactaid milk is darn near twice the cost of regular milk! So I don't do that. I may look for the soy milk Sandie mentioned, sounds like a treat! But once you're further out, you can try other things to replace the protein from your milk - you just have to make sure you don't skimp on liquids, 'cuz the 3 glasses of milk PNC recommends also give you 24 oz. of liquid - double whammy!
Since I've been able to chew more solid proteins, I have done a lot of beef jerky to increase my protein (LOVE IT!), and cheese - string cheese and pepper jack are my favorites. So just power through as best you can, Jennifer - your options WILL increase once you're further out!
