To all my dear, dear friends that I've met through OH and PNC, I want to say thank you so much for all your prayers and support!  You make a world of difference in my life and I'm blessed to be able to call you friends. For those who didn't know...I had surgery last Friday, the 28th, to remove a growth on the right side of my thyroid.  What was supposed to take about an hour ended up taking 5 and a half hours.  There was a complication (to say the least) and my surgeon decided to call in a specialist in the field, Dr Rupp.  The sample taken showed not only was there a presence of cancer but also a disease called Hashimoto syndrome.  They carefully removed my entire thyroid and two lymph nodes.  The surgery was successfull and I'm doing fine now.  I wasn't doing so well on Saturday, kept getting nausous and had a terrible headache.  Dr Rupp came in for my post surgery consult and when I told him about my head ache he instantly asked..."How much coffee do you drink a day?"  I told him the truth and he yelled out the door to the nurses station..."Get this woman a large coffee...STAT!"   I was shocked, he smiled and said I'd be fine but to drink three cups and go home.  He was right.  My headache went away, I went home, and I've only had to take Tylonol for a little discomfort.  (Do you know how it feels when you get novacaine from the dentist and your face is unthawing?  Well, that's what my neck is feeling like.  Weird, not but bad.) I'll be out of wor****il I see the surgeon again on Monday morning, then I hope to get back to work.  (I'll probably see you some of you at coffee on Saturday, because as you know...doctor's orders!!!) Again my friends, thank you so much for your hugs, your love, your prayers, and your unending support in my journey of living a healthier life.  I believe without my weight loss surgery, I wouldn't be healthy enough to tackle the bumps on the road.  But now I'm healthier and can get back up and back at it faster than what I would have in the past. God bless you all. Edi Oh, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  Things will be GREAT in 2008!!

Oh my beautiful Edi - I'm so glad that is behind you!  But what a shocker, to find out your quickie little surgery turned out to be such a big deal!  I pray they find nothing concerning to them, and that you are restored to NORMAL!  (whatever that is for YOU!)

I LOVE the coffee story!  I've got it bad.  Some lady had a shot at her very own expresso machine on Price is Right this morning, and I got SO EXCITED for her!  there's something wrong with that, right?
