New Year's Day - oh what a wonderful feeling

Happy 2008 everyone! Go**** is humbling...I officially have BCBS insurance as of today - yippee! I can finally proceed on my WLS journey and it's a great feeling to be honest. When you are so "hungry" for this life change and come upon a roadblock, it seems like it will be forever. But in the end, it seems like just yesterday. My decision has been made and I will be pursuing Duodenal Switch at the U of M with Dr. Buchwald. I want to thank everyone who has supported and encouraged me the past 6 months that I've been participating here on this board. It has been so wonderful meeting many of you and learning SO much! Again, thank you!!!  CHEERS! We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called "Opportunity" and its first chapter is New Year's Day. by Edith Lovejoy Pierce

ABOUT FRICKING TIME!!!  I've been warming this spot on the bench for you so long my butt is hot!!!  Really -- I'm soooo  happy for you.  You are going to do awesome with this new tool you'll be getting real soon and I'm sooooo excited for you!!!  And Linda is right -- no one deserves it more.  Between your support and kind words, and you just plain hanging in there, you should get the surgery tomorrow!!!!
