I was having a conversation yesterday with a fellow OH'er whose screen name is "Britt". She said the following to me about how to succeed with WLS and I felt her words were worth sharing with my MN friends. Simple and to the point! (Thank you Britt!!!) follow the rules stay focused  and be DETERMINED to get to goal Maybe we've heard it before, but isn't it a good reminder going into the New Year? Best wishes everyone!

Thanks for posting these!!!  They are sooooo true!!! I would also like to add that it helps to practice the rules as soon as you are going to your appointments to begin the approval journey, and to get to the group sessions.  That way you aren't changing everything at one time. Chewing into applesauce consistency, drinking at least 64 ounces of water, listening for and finding your full trigger, walking and exercising, no drinking pop, taking vitamins, etc.  After all, practice make perfect!!! And the groups are sooo great~~~you meet new friends who can relate to what you are, will be and have been going through, and you have support and wisdom of many.  I learned a lot of what I was going to go through from these group sessions and they have REALLY helped me focus on issues because I was able to identify them.  PNC has a great group program and you do not have to be a PNC patient to attend.  And they meet weekly with different topics such as open networking, nutrition, etc. Just my $0.02 worth --- XXOO

Good advice............ I have a question for YOU! Whats your thoughts about generic multi vitamins vs the more name brands?

The PNC program gave us two "chewable" choices -- Centrum Chewable (1 per day) or Flinstones Complete (2 per day).  Personally, I couldn't get past the Centrum smell and the Flinstones is like chewing a couple of candies so I take those.  I always took a multi-vitamin before surgery (One a Day) so taking a vitamin has always been part of my routine any way.  And since I follow the rules of PNC and their advice on absorption, I take what they say.   My hubby also took a generic one time, instead of his normal vitamin, and (TMI on its way) saw the entire thing whole the next day.  So he really questioned the absorption then.  So maybe any chewable is okay -- as long as the ingredients are the same and you take them -- not taking because you don't like the taste would defeat the purpose......

Hey Jeanne - yeah, the KISS method! In my house, the kids are not allowed to use "stupid", so we have replaced it with "Silly".
