left side hurts bad

Hi guys I was wondering I have been feeling great no problems of any kind until the other day, I was getting into the car and pulled something on my left side and now it hurts, I feel my left side and it feels kinda hard at times.  I feel the best when I lay down.  You guys don't think I hurt or ripped anything do you?  I know your not doctors by any means but I am kinda scared I screwed something up.   Please let me know what you think........THANKS   Marsha 

Marsha...I don't think you did anything bad....probably just pulled a muscle. However...I am not a doctor. If I were you I would call your surgeon and tell him about it.....if nothing else it will ease your mind. Better to be safe then sorry!!! Let us know what he has to say okay. Time to put your surgery date up on your avatar (profile). It is easy to do ....if you need help let me know.

Marsha, I agree with Connie, call the doctor.  That's why we paid them the big American Dollars!  I had my RNY at the U of M, and they said they have surgeons on-call for calls after hours and weekends.  I haven't had to call them yet, but definitely will if I get worried about something unusual. Call the doctor -- If you did do any damage, you'll want to know before that damage leads to even more!!! To update our surgery date, go to "My Account" at the very top, right hand side of the page, and in the center column is a "My Surgery" section.  In that column is "I've Got A Date".  Click on that and fill in and save the info.  It may take a minute or two to hit your avatar page, but refreshing your avatar page should bring it up. Let us know what the doctor says!!! XXOO

Is the pain near an incision?

oh yes I love Bon Jovi also he is so hot.......  The pain is not right by an incision but kinda by the one that they did alot of work by.  It doesn't hurt all the time but when I get up or turn to fast,or need to get in and out of the car.  If I am just sitting or laying down it doesn't hurt that bad hardly at all.  Thanks for everone who has given me advice........Thanks  Oh and I finally got my surgery date on there THANKS BARB!!!!!!!!!!!   Take care evryone and Happy New Year     Marsha

Oh, he is HOT alright. uff da My sister & I are going to the March concert - CANNOT WAIT! I was thinking hernia, but stand in agreement with everyone else about calling your surgeon first thing tomorrow. Keep us posted & let's hope it was just a little muscle strain.

Marsha, I have been having the same kind of pain. I mention this to the physical therapist and she said that this is normal. She also said to refrain from quick movement and bending for a month from my surgery date. Although sometime this is not possible I have really tried to live by that. The pain is not as bad as it was. But, when it was bad it was bad!! Oh and Cindy said that a hot pack can help the pain as well! Hope the pain goes away for you soon.
