I HAVE LOST 16 POUNDS AND I AM 4 WEEKS OUT BUT I DO NOT SEE ANY CHANGES. THE SAME CLOTHES I WORE BEFORE SURGERY STILL FIT THE SAME…. WHEN WILL I LOOSE WEIGHT TO GO INTO A SMALLER SIZE?

I FEEL DOWN AND DEPRESSED WHEN I HAVE TO CONTINUE TO WEAR MY SAME CLOTHES.

That's a hard one to put a number on.....You are shrinking but it just might be a case of "you wore that size a little longer than you should have" so it may take a while to get down to the next size.  I was wearing one size when I had the surgery but should have been in the next (but didn't buy because the surgery was coming soon).  So I didn't get into a size below that for a while.  Give it time GF!!!  If you are following the plan the weight and sizes have to come off!!!! Just like wanting the surgery yesterday and having to wait for it, we want to be in a new wardrobe instantly too.  It will happen -- but remember, the weight gain comes off over a 24 month period so there will be plenty of downsizing!!! Be patient - it will come! (plenty of stories here about people losing their pants in public...) Were your clothes tight to begin with, are they comfortable now? You are shrinking, no doubt about it. Just wait 'til this time next month and I bet you are down in clothing size! Keep your chin up!

16 lbs is awesome!   I can honestly relate though.  I wear the same size pants at 215 lbs as I do now at 200 pounds.  AND 18 months ago when I was at my lowest weight since surgery (180lbs) I STILL wore those same darn pants! My butt shrinks, but I have excess skin on my stomach and inner thighs.  So, a 14 would fit around my waist at 180, but I couldn't zip them due to the panis.  Hence, the tummy tuck surgery fund was started! Don't lose your excitement....have you been measuring your biceps, neck, chest, waist, hips, thighs?  If not....do it now!  You will be amazed how even on those weeks you don't lose pounds you lose inches!

Congrats on the 16 lb loss!!!  I can totally relate to your situation.  It took me at least 3 months before I could wear smaller clothes.  To date, I've lost 110 pounds and am only wearing clothes about 2 sizes smaller.  But it sure beats being 2 sizes bigger :)  Hang in there - all good things come to those who wait.

I was told that when you first lose weight, more people find that they can now fit into the size they "thought" they were before the surgery.  It's true.  It took me about 25+lbs before I got down into the next size lower, then now it seems like every 10 lbs I'm a new size (maybe not literally, but it sure seems that way).  Also, it took almost 30lbs before people started noticing and commenting on my weight loss. I'm lucky that I had clothes in sizes from Large to 3X, that I've accumulated over the years of dieting and hoping for the smaller sizes.  Once you see that things are getting looser, try on your smaller clothes often or you will find that there will be many clothes you waited too long to wear. It will happen, sooner than you think and once it starts you will be amazed at how fast you will change sizes-sometimes it's not a blessing-it can be expensive, but fun!

It will happen...don't be discouraged....you have only just begun! Doing measurements is a great idea....that is where you really start noticing the changes. Take pics if you aren't already...you will notice the changes there as well. Hug, connie d

Don't worry surgery sister. I am still wearing the same size too and I lost 20 pounds at my post op appt. I have noticed my shirts are not as snug but my pants still fit the same way. I am still wearing stretchy pants too!! Don't get down in the dumps, everything will start to fall off soon!!!

I noticed that my clothing size changed when the loss came to a short "stall."  I lost for 3 weeks (just shy of 20#) post-op, but nothing on my body seemed to change and my clothes fit the same, and then I stalled for about a week, and bam, at the end of that week, my pants were a size smaller, my bras didn't dig so deep, and my shirts were baggier.  I lost 18 pound pre-op, and didn't go through any clothing changes there.  However, I did notice that my fingers were a little smaller, my feet were perhaps a little less wide, and my face may have gotten a little less full.  Remember that we don't get to chose where we lose the weight at, but we are losing, and it may be in places that we just don't notice to quickly.  But man, wouldn't it be great if we could chose!

16 lbs is a good bit of weight - don't be depressed - you lost 16 lbs!!!!!  Give it time and be patient, you will be in another size (or 2) before you know it.  Are you just getting into pureed foods?  If so, concentrate on that and not sizes.  It is too early for you to be trying to push the envelope, so to speak.  You will get there!
