My confession..... I couldn't stand it any longer and I ATE STRING CHEESE TODAY, BUT NOT JUST ONE BUT TWO WHOLE ONES.  I am feeling, EXTREMELY GUILTY AND BAD for not sticking the 9th day of my liquid diet.  I have no excuses, and I accept full responsiblity for my actions.  I wanted to post it, instead pretending it was okay.  So there you have it, please be gentle if respond to my post. Erika

Get back to it!  You slipped up...just remember after surgery slipping up can really cause you grief!

Don't beat yourself up over it.....just try not to do it again. This LD is very important. You need to shrink that liver so surgery is easier to perform. Surgeons can tell if you have eaten and some do cancel the surgery once they go in and see that this has happened. They don't think you will handle the changes required after surgery if you can't handle the LD. I am not trying to be mean....just stating the facts as I know them.

Good Luck......connie d

Everyone makes mistakes it is taking what happened, learning from it and moving on that counts. I hope it doesn't make a big difference in your liver or hamper your surgery!

Thank you everyone for your advice and comments.  I was thinking about why chose to eat the string cheese.... and I realized that was stressed out about my nephew, so I turned to food.  I didn't get sick but I'm sick over the guilt and I should have just posted that I was struggling instead of heading to the fridge.  I appreciate everyones support and hopefully this won't screw up my surgery and if it does... it will be a hard lesson to learn. Erika - my only comment is please be sure to be this honest with your surgeon before surgery. I have actually heard of a surgeon opening one up for surgery only to close right after because the person ate food on the LD and never told the surgeon. That risk, heart ache, and setback just isn't worth it, so please do be honest. It is probably going to work out just fine, but at least this way he knows ahead of time and there are no surprises. Best of luck!

Diamond Girl, Thank you for your honest information, and I will be calling my surgeon office first thing Monday morning to tell them, I ate on my liquid diet and I'll go from there. So, I will find out soon enough. Erika

Erika I was a stress eater, hell mabee I still am BUT I'm conscience of it now so whenever I'm feeling that stressed out need to eat thing, I walk right past the fridge and out the back door for a walk. You just gotta find something to replace the eating with hon. Good luck!
