Hey Everyone! First of all, I'M HOME!! The surgery went fine and I'm finally home. I had some problems at the hospital with a little dehydration and I was a stubborn mule about having to do my walking.. I really just wanted to sleep :0) Anywho, I'm home.. getting plenty of sleep AND water. But I do have a question. My bowels have apparently woken up... I'm having plenty of gas, which I expected, but what I didn't expect was having some poo. There is lots of gurggling and such... other than that though, i feel fine! Thanks everyone for your sweet wishes and prayers. I hope you guys have had a very Merry Christmas. All my love! ~Katherine

Congratulations on being home!  The gurgling will pass eventually, once your body has either absorbed all the gas or released it.  Getting rest is good, but don't forget to get up and walk around also.  That will help you pass the gas and will help you heal faster. Take care, Debi

Congrats on being home -- I think everyone heals faster when they are home. Remember ~~~~ Walk, walk, walk  //  Sip, sip, sip  -- you'll get rid of the gas and keep hydrated -- the 2 most important things right now!!! XXOO

Poo is normal.  I poo'd in the hospital the day after, and then almost every day for a week, and I stayed regular until I went to solids.  I don't know where it came from, but it was there.  Jello maybe?  As the others said, the gurgling will calm down, as will the gas (though you will continue to have plenty of it).   Glad you are home and feeling fine!

I think the loose poo after surgery was by far the worst part of the whole experience.  I felt like I had to go every minute of every day.  As we were shopping in PV after my surgery, I ended up leaving my underwear in one of those "pay to go" places because I couldn't control it.  For me it lasted a few weeks - all through the liquid stage, but eventually I got to solids!  THANKFULLY!  Sorry for the grossness...just thought I'd share my experience. Good luck and Congrats on your surgery.
