Mayo Rochester and Humana Insurance

I spent most of 2 hours on the phone today going between these two. What Mayo requires and what Humanan will pay is far off from each other and neither seems to care that I can not afford any out of the pocket money. Just trying to make a good decision and thinking about doing  this surgery is scary enough without there added stuff.  One has to have this codded this way in order for it to be paid the other won't do it that way cause they never have.  I see the Phycologist next friday then I will know for sure what is covered. So right now it is looking like this surgery is not going to happen.  Anyway thanks for letting me vent. Janie

Janie....don't give up the fight. I had so many hoops to jump through I about gave up myself. Finally I had the surgery. Sometimes it just takes longer then we would like but it will happen. One step at a time.....don't let it overwhelm you. Hugs  connie d

Keep up the fight Janie.  Most people have had some hoops to get through.  Hope you are able to get things worked out.  If in the end Mayo refuses to do things to get this covered, another surgeon or hospital?  I don't know.  Just throwing things out there.   Keep us informed.

Thank you for repsonding. I have somewhat thought about going somewhere else. The next closes place is St.Paul it's an hour and half from here so after care would be a concern.

Also I am not real certain surgery is my answer.  My twin had the rny and i'll tell you watching her try to cope and all her problems after surgery it scrays the heck out of me! But I have tried everything else so am not sure what other option I really have. Janie
