OT....job

Okay, so some of you know that I was offered a position last week and verbally accepted.  Someone asked me for an interview last Friday as he'd heard great things about me and  I interviewed with him knowing that I had already verbally accepted another position and wanted to see what this job was about and all.  Monday, he offered me the job and I did a  job shadow for a little while and he was waiting to hear from HR what job grade level he could  hire me at and what salary.  Well, he was suppose to get back to me yesterday and called this morning saying he still had not heard back from the HR lady and I respectfully declined the position letting him know I needed to be fair to the other hiring manager and it was getting so late  to keep putting her off.  He pretty much begged for two more hours and asked why my salary was now and I said, "Okay, so 1:00?"  He called me 45 minutes later and bumped me up a job grade level with a 13% increase to my current salary.  Of course, I accepted immediately.  LOL  I also turned down another interview that someone called me for a half hour after I accepted the position.   It was hard to tell the other hiring manager that I accepted a different offer, but let her know I had to think of my family.  She said she understood.  She sounded so sad though.  Ugggghhh! What a fabulous day!  Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers when this happened.

Good for you Pam!!  Isn't it something how this started out to be such a negative event and it has turned out to be such a great opportunity for you.....and to know that the people you work with think so highly of you is another great benefit!!

Pam! What great news!  I love your whole job story!  Your previous bosses aren't going to know what the heck to do with you gone and because they let you go you have a much better job make much better money!  How incredibly judicious!  This definitely makes up for all the times in your life when "life wasn't fair!"  HA HA HA!!! I love how karma works!  ***S***
