BERRY DIDN'T GET TO COME HOME!
Well, things have kinda changed and Berry was not able to come home tonite. For one (I didn't know this) they pumped Berry's stomach full of air for the surgery. I guess it is so they can see better! When I got there this morning, his stomach was destended and hard. He was in such pain. The nurses said it was gas pains and it just had to pass. As the day progressed it did not get any better, plus the pain was causing him to get hot. They even got a fan for him. And worse he was not able to pass anything, a few burps but that was it. His poor stomach was so "full" that by 6pm this evening he had managed to only get 4 oz of Boost down and only 5 oz of water! Dr. Glass came by before he went home and sent him for some x-rays. After he read them he came up and said it looks like everything was alright. He figured it was more his bowels than anything. So they were going to give him the Silver Bullet (and I'm not talking the food blender). I am worried about him. And it only makes me less confident for my surgery next week! I hope that tomarrow when I get there he has had success, so to speak. And I hope he can come home tomarrow! I will keep you posted. Say a couple prayers for him! Thanks - Lynn

Ahh, Lynn...So sorry to here things are tough right now for Berry. At least he doesn't have a leak, I assume that is what the xray is for. Maybe he just got to much 'GAS' I sure hope he gets some relief soon..I know that is really painful....Has he been able to get up a walk much? I hear that helps too. I will say a couple of extra prayers for him....

Yep they pump carbon dioxide into us and blow us up like balloons. And I can sympathize, my "gas" pain in my shoulder was horrible, and there is nothing you can do for it except be as active as the pain allows. Sending healing vibes to Berry, and keep your chin up Lynn, you have waited a long time for this, and he will be just fine, he is in amazing hands with Dr. Glass, and so will you be next week.
Sorry to hear the gas is causing such bad pain. It will get better the more he gets up and walks and moves around. Don't let this scare you. I wasn't too bad, I walked like crazy in the hospital though and was told that's why it wasn't too bad. He'll be fine, so will you. Sending up a prayer that he will have some relief soon.
Hi Lynn!
Please dont get discouraged....Berry will be fine, you'll see. I'm sure his pain and seeing his tummy like it is, is a scarry thought to you now...don't let it get to you. Most people do just fine with the gas....the bigger they can blow you up...the better they can see and do your operation. We'll all say an extra little prayer for Berry, but you just keep the faith girl....Dr. Glass is very good at what he does and will take good care of both of you!! Good luck to you next week on your new journey! Stop in at group tonight at the hospital and get some reassurance dear.
