It is totally normal.  But I have found that working on changing my attitude helped more than ANYTHING!  As for your attitude about food?  CELEBRATE your successes!  Every time you choke down something pureed, look at it as one step closer to your NEW style of eating, one more meal that you've done the RIGHT THING to shed your excess weight!   YEE HAW!!!  You can DO this!  And you will be THRILLED TO ACTUAL TEARS when you start to see the weight fall off you!!!    PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK every time you do the RIGHT thing!  FORGIVE YOURSELF whenever you do something you know you probably shouldn't have, and DECIDE IN YOUR HEART AND SOUL that you are going to be successful with this!   Later on, when people say things that just don't sound positive about what you're doing, tell yourself that they didn't think that through before it came out their mouth, forgive them, and take it in the most POSITIVE light you possibly can!  It feels GOOD to turn all the negatives to positives! When I was in college, I had a chance to hear Leo Buscaglia speak.  He was wonderful, and said something that has stuck with me all these years.  Without going into the whole story, the sentence that stuck with me is "I want to die living, not live dying."  If you put that in your pipe and smoke it for a while, it's very powerful!

Hi Marsha, during the first six week phase, I became very creative.  Added spice powders (not salts) to cream soups;  try adding poultry seasoning to cream of chicken, celery, or mushroom (tastes like turkey dressing!  Or add Italian seasoning to tomato soup, cream of celery, or any other.  I also added extract flavorings to S/F vanilla pudding:  lemon, raspberry, almond, or peppermint.  Experiment, and don't let monotony get you down! Ane remember to keep your eye on the end results;  truly, this will pass!  Best wishes to you!  Hugs galore, Patti
