I've Gained...

so much since weight loss surgery!  I am back to my old happy, upbeat self I was years ago before I gained over 100 pounds! I have gained back my self confidence which is a big gain! We always focus on how much we've lost....meaning our weight, but the biggest benefit is what we gain....ourselves....our life!  I didnt realize how isolated being obese makes a person. I have gained new friends, a new outlook on life, new passion in my living.....I now like doing things...before I just sat at home, stuffing my feelings(with food),  trying to hide the fat me where no one would see me. I dont think I can ever thank God enough for the tool he has given me to help me love myself and regain my own self back!!  To everyone, Have a very Merry Holiday season! (trying to be politically correct...LOL) And when people ask you How much have you lost..remember, youve gained so much more!

Bravo Phyllis!!!  I have been feeling this way too. When I look at how much I have gained in the course of just a few months, I am excited for life again, I am so grateful for having had this surgery and all the new people I have gained in my life because of it!!!  CarolN

O Phillis... Very well said! I'm going to use your words from now on when I'm asked about my weight loss. I'm going to tell them how much I've gained!

I love this post!! I totally feel the same way, most of the time when people ask me how much I have lost I just want to say what I have gained.  Many times I just tell them quite a bit but I feel so much better and this and that is better.  SO they realize that I didn't do it solely to lose weight but to gain health.  The way I feel, feels so much better than knowing how much I have lost.  I feel healthy and happy and comfortable in my own skin for the first time in years!! That makes me feel fabulous!  Thanks for the post! I like looking at the gains!!
