Wowzers and Update time!!!

Well I guess its my turn to update everyone on me! I know I have not been around very much lately, but I have been lurking everyday. I know its been said before, but I do so support everyone here and am so grateful for all of you, my OH family. I am also so grateful for WLS and all the positive changes in my life so far! I look forward to my future and look forward to so much now in my life that I never dreamed possible this time last year! I had my follow up at my regular doctor a few weeks ago. Before WLS I was on 2 different types of meds for just my cholesterol and very Triglycerides. My doctor was in amazement! my good cholesterol went up 10 points and the Triglycerides went from over 600 to 250. Still high but she just said to keep doing what I have been doing. We are going to look at it again in 6 months and I will popably not have to go back on my meds!! Over all the cholesterol is still high, 237, but she prefers to break it down into the catagories to look at what the different parts are doing, anyway she is very happy and so am I !! My next sorta WOW moment came yesterday when my Grandson (4 years old) and I were at Target shopping. We were going by what I had gotten for his mom for Christmas and I said now thats a secret, don't tell Mom, ok? A man was walking by and heard me say that and he jokingly said, "Oh Mom, I know what 'AUNTIE' is getting you for Christmas', he was laughing and I was just in shock he would say Auntie and I said I am his Grandma! He just looked like No way!!! I smiled and walked off!!! I just beemed all the way thru the store and smiled at everyone I saw. It was amazing how many others smiled back at me!!! Oh I better update everyone. I did get that promotion I was talking about a few months ago. It starts after the first of the year and comes with alot of traveling and whole bunch of new responsiblities and a healthy raise. I am so grateful for this promotion and the fact that now I can actually travel and meet people face to face and not be embarassed because of my size! Oh and I fit wonderfully in the plane seats!!! And when I have to walk from one side of the airport to another, I do it without getting hot and sore and out of breathe! I love WLS!!!!! One more thing, this morning I weighed a perfect 200 pounds!!! So that means I will be in ONEDERLAND before you know it!!!! I was so excited!!! Almost cried, but will save the tears for tomarrow when I get there!!! (HOWS THAT FOR A POSITIVE ATTITUDE???) Life is just great these days, I am so darn busy and have so much energy, wish there was more time in the day so I could get more done!!!! CarolN

I am so happy for your. It is so awesome that a person's life can really be turned around after this surgery. I have enjoyed watching you shrink and progress through your journey. You are an inspiration to me. Keep up the great work 'auntie'

This is FABULOUS! You have had a lot of good things going on! Your cholesterol #s are so improved, it is great! Good job!

Auntie? How cool is that! What a wonderful thing to have happen. Congrats on the promotion, too....have fun with all that traveling. You will be in ONEDERLAND tomorrow - with that attitude, you can't not be! Congrats on that too! Keep up the great work, Carol Laurie

Carol, you are SUCH a beautiful woman, isn't it a THRILL to FEEL like one finally??? Congrats on the health, congrats on the promotion ( do NOT let them schedule you for any travel over March 29th, okay???), and THANKS for the update!!! And I, for one, shall not refer to you as "Auntie". I prefer to call you "HOT GRANNY!!!"
