pnc group tonight .. Labor vs. WLS

Hi All,

My emotional mind says NO WAY to support group tonight!
My logical mind says YOU NEED TOO GO!
Will see who wins.

Just some thoughts about WLS. distress tolerance !

Labor... so excited and have to wait for that little one... and OH YAAAH... Labor.... Means to work...

WLS.. so excited and have to wait for that date.. and OH
YAAAH it is a tool... means to work with IT!

So back to the labor... mind is saying no way can I tolerate this pain ....meds ... distress... want to run... sorry baby is still with you.... SO you ... listen to music.. have support from love ones.... MEDS.... and you tolerate
the stress... pain... fear.. joy.. excitement.

So Labor can also be.. school and a degree.... new job.. moving.... money... LET'S JUST CALL IT .... LIFE!

And then I am back to can I tolerate this journey ????

YAY!!!  Sabrinna says you should go to because you will be glad that you didi!!

You will never regret going to a meeting -- only that you missed a meeting.  And for the record, I'd rather have WLS surgery again before I even THINK about a labor pain again.  I've had gas worse than the WLS surgery pain.  Don't stress about stuff that hasn't happened and maybe never will.  Instead of asking if you can tolerate the surgery, can you tolerate not having it?  Are the comorbidities going to go away or get worse?  These are questions and concerns the meetings, and your OH friends can help you with.  So go get your hugs GF!!!!  Many need your hugs -- more importantly -- we need you!!!  Some day YOU will be a roll model likes the year-outters are to you and I right now.  You WILL stand up and say "I was worried to the high heaven's, but I'd do it again" to a newbie -- Keep the faith sista!!! XXOO

MARY JO!  Say these words out loud and get louder and madder everytime you say them:                                 Satan in the back seat!                                  Satan in the back seat!!                                  Satan in the back seat!!! The devil is trying to win you over - don't give him the satisfaction!  Remember YOU have a lot to offer others, so if you don't go for yourself, then go for the others who's lives you will touch by being there!   I for one could use a big ol' celebratory hug because I have one small task for school to do yet and THEN I"M DONE!!!!  Come celebrate with me! Love you tons!

And FOR THE RECORD, MJ gives the BESTEST HUGS!!!  Knock that little devil off your left shoulder and let the little angel on the right win out!  You may not know if you need US, but WE need YOU!   People who are pre-op sometimes think they're attending support meetings to get courage, inspiration, information, reassurance, you name it.  But you pre-op people give SO MUCH to those of us who are on the bench and may be struggling with issues!  You re-affirm our decision, you remind us what we need to do to continue our success with WLS, you make us want to DESERVE the admiration you pour on our egos!   So MJ?  Please come tonight.  K?
