Hey All! My work (Hennepin County) is participating in GET FIT TWIN CITIES. This is a program that runs January 16 through April 24 and focuses on getting fit. Basically, you keep track of any activity you do and it is recorded monthly. There are prizes and you get free or reduced membership passes to twin cities area clubs. Through the Hennepin County Team, I have registered a team and would like to invite any of you to join. Registration is $5, but free through the Hennepin County Team. All I need is your first name, last name, e-mail address, age, and race. Then you will get a an email with your free/reduced pass info. and other info. I am the team captain, and as captain I will record your minutes for you. All you need to do is track your minutes beginning January 16. I think this would be a fun, motivating way to get moving! Below is more info. Let me know if you are interested.
Get fit - Join the Hennepin County team The Get Fit Twin Cities fitness challenge is Jan. 16 - April 24, 2008. It's a 100-day, team-based, fitness challenge designed to jump-start healthy habits to help people of all ages feel better, look better and live longer, healthier lives. Teams of two to 10 people can register - including families. Each participant receives a Get Fit Pass Card that provides free or reduced-fee access to fitness facilities. The challenge is for teams to track their minutes of physical activity and report their progress every 25 days. All activity counts -- walking, dancing, shoveling -- as long as participants are moving. All participants are eligible for prizes and will receive weekly activity, nutrition and recipe tips. Family members, friends and co-workers are encouraged to join."
I am not sure if the link to the site will come through, but here it is: www.getfittwincities.org Peggy

Oh, it looks like I can only have ten members on my team and I have six...so, four more! I think there is a way I can start another team if more are interested, but I can't be captain of more than one team. So, if I get more than ten interested, I will ask someone to be captain of a new team.
