Not the flu
Well, what I thought was the flu is turning out not to be. I was still nauseas today and suddenly started throwing up...now I can't eat or hardly drink anything...I've been lucky to get in 25 oz a day over the last 5 days....so it was more foamy heaves then anything....only there was also blood! I called my surgeons office and they took my # and gave it to the "on call" Dr. who called me back and told me that with the symptoms I was describing he was pretty sure that I would find that I have an ulcer. He said unless I can't keep anything down tonight or start feeling real dehydrated I could just as well wait until in the morning and call Dr. Glass and get an X-ray or endoscopy. Just what I want! If I would have been thinking clearly...I could have put this all together prior to all this pain! I called at about 9 days out with a burning sensation that I thought was heartburn and they told me to get Milk of Mag (I even posted about it) I have had several symptoms that I didn't catch or was told it was something else....but now that they are all flaring at the same time....I looked on line at "peptic and bleeding ulcers" and I have EVERY symptom. At least I should get a diagnosis tomorrow and be on my way to relief. I have not felt pain this bad...it's actually worse then the surgery was. Will let everyone know tomorrow.....thanks for listening!!!
OMG that is horrible. That is the problem with the surgery. If we try and second guess our symptoms and write them off, we get ourselves into trouble. If you get worse or things don't feel better soon, you should just go in to the ER. Then they will call Dr. Glass and he will come see you. Please keep track of your symptoms, and let us know how is turns out.
Nicole,
Think Dr. Glass would come? I'm in so much pain, it's worse than surgery. I have used all my lortab now.....I'm trying to just hold off until tomorrow...I just took my evening pill I need to take and what a mistake! Now I'm really sore!. I was thinking of you when all this came out earlier...how it wasn't the flu but a slight complication. What exactly happens with a bleeding ulcer? How does it go away? This sucks, plain and simple.
OH MY!!! I am sorry you are having this trouble! I will be praying for you and looking for your post on how it goes tomorrow! Healing Hugs!

That does not sound like any fun at all. I am sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. I do not have any info about ulcers that I can share as I have been lucky to avoid them thus far. I will pray that tomorrow the doctor is able to diagnose and begin an affective treatment. Try to get some rest tonight!
Thanks Connie,
My appt. is at 11:45...they said he wasn't in when I called at 8am but that they would call him and tell him what was going on...I got a call about an hour later saying to come in at 11:45 and the DR. would be there for me. Thank goodness too. I didn't sleep very well and when i got up as soon as I started sipping and taking my meds and vitamins it started hurting like crazy again. I can't take anymore of this!
Thanks for being concerned and I will be posting again as soon as I find out what he says this is and let everyone know how I'm doing.
