I have a really hard time sharing my feelings of what is going on in side of me. I try to be so tough all the time. But, I hope this will be helpful and allow me to relax a little by just getting it out!!  I am offically nervous about this surgery. I have not been nervous until today. It may be because I had a dream about this surgery last night. Or maybe because I have realized this is the last weekend before my surgery. I don't really know why!  I don't worry about dying at least I keep telling myself that. I do worry about complications. But, then I see so many of you wonderful people who are just doing so great. This gives me hope that things will be okay.  I worry about will I be able to work this tool and use it to my advantage or will I fail. So many times I have started off great and some where in the middle and things just fall apart. I believe that now I have the determination to make this work but, will I later? Oh boy! I hope so this is so life changing.  Thanks for listening (Reading)!!
God Bless, Angela

Your feelings are normal. I believe we all went through that. Your having major surgery. It's scary. But remember, things will be okay in the end. Keep your eye on the prize (losing weight) and keep the faith. Lori

Angela, Your thoughts and feelings are completely normal.  If you didn't have some of these concerns prior to such a major surgery, I would be more concerned about you.  This surgery is major and will change your life....but all for the better!  Be as prepared as you can (proper groceries in the house, etc) and listen to ALL of the dr's orders and you will be successful!

We are all here for you and will be praying for a successful surgery and rapid recovery!  We are here when you need someone to listen as well as when you have a question.  As you know, I am relatively new to this myself, but I don't think I would be where I am today without knowing and beliving that all these wonderful people are thinking of me and praying for my success!  They have all been so helpful in my preparation as well as through my post op challenges. Big hugs for you!

Teri

First of all, best wishes on a successful surgery and recovery!!  Your nervousness is to be expected prior to having this major life changing surgery.  Try to remember why you've chosen this path and the hope that you feel.  You're chances of success are so great with the support of your surgeon, dietician and tools like this forum.

Angela, the worries you expressed are common to so many of us. My doc said there'd be something wrong if someone DOESN'T worry!   I think that complications are the exception rather than the rule. The rate of death from WLS is the same as any other surgery--1 in 200.  NOW  DOESN'T MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER? But it does prove that this is no more dangerous than most surgeries.  (If I'm wrong feel free to correct, anyone!) Ask any of us if we have regrets and I think you'll get a resounding NO! I'll be praying for you. ((HUG)) **SUE**
