OT- cat/house sitter
Ok! I'm feeling guilty leaving my cat for 10 days while I go to Tennessee. My neighbor agreed to stop in to check on him and make sure he is fed and watered. But I'm feeling like I would like to get a cat/house sitter. Anyone interested in making some money to house sit/cat sit for me? The dates are 12/22- 12/31. I was thinking $100.00 (cuz tha't all I can afford). Let me know.
Also, is anyone planning to go to Medina Ball room NY eve? I already bought my tickets.
Hugs,
Lori
I'm so glad you're going to visit your family! And I don't think you should feel guilty about leaving your cat home alone. (We just have friend stop in and put out fresh water and do the scooping once a day. He also plays with the cat--who used to be the most anti-social feline around.)
I think $100 is way generous! Is there a pet service in your town who will take care of animals while the parents are away? Might want to consider it if you can't find a cat-house sitter.

Thanks Sue! My neighbor plans to stop in and feed him and give him water. I just feel bad because he is SO dependant on human companionship. He is always at my side. I just think he'll be lonely. My poor Felix. I'd bring him with me; but not sure how to do that since I'm flying. I'd have to take him as a carry on. I don't trust the other way they do it.
Thanks again.
Lori
If you can't find a kitty-sitter, have you thought about leaving the radio on for Felix? A little sound might help ease the loneliness between visits from you neighbour. Our cat seemed to find it better than the silence. (Of course, this is only an assumption, as our cat has hissy-fits when we leave and then refuses to talk to us. But she will get extremely friendly after she gets over her indignation of being left behind. Then it's "Pet me; love me; pet me; love me!!")

That has to be hard. Just know that your baby will be fine. I was going to suggest sleeping with a particular blanket for awhile before you go and then leave it somewhere your kitty can curl up on it. Then at least he will have your scent while you are gone. I'd also call once a day or so and talk to your kitty. Also, see if your neighbor that is going to check on him will be willing to play with him for a little while before he/she leaves. Won't be making it to Medina Ballroom, don't drive on New Years Eve.
