I am home!

Well, I am at my parent's house recouperating for the next 1 1/2 weeks.  My surgery was on Tuesday and everything went well.  My parent's told me it took them 3 hours to do both the RNY and to take out my gall bladder, which apparently had somehuge stones it, but overall everything went well. I was discharged from the hospital yesterday around 1:30 pm and then had the 1 1/2 hour drive to my parent's house.  Luckily I was able to sleep most of the way home since I was getting uncomfortable after the first 30 minutes.   Overall, I am doing well.  Sipping and walking. Although just to take all of my pills in the moring my pouch fills up with water and is really uncomfortable.  Hopefully that will slowly go away as the swelling goes down so that I will also be able to eat breakfast in the morning.   The clear liquid diet is continuing to go well.  I am drinking a lot of juic mixed with water since I am afraid to try  drinking just plain juice for fear I will dump on it.   Well, I believe it is back to the recliner for a while since that is where I am most comfortable sitting and sleeping.

I'm glad to hear that things went well for you! How about beef or chicken bouillion instead of juices? Although it's good that you're diluting the juices. I found the warmth of the soups soothing. And keep sipping and walking! ((HUG)) **SUE**

Glad to hear you are home and resting. Sounds like you have everything under control.  I slept in a recliner the first night...after that I went into my bed.  I slept with a couple pillows so I was more propped up.   Keep us posted on how you are doing. Hugs, connie d

Congrats on an uneventful surgery.  Glad you are getting better!!!  Keep sipping and walking....And try spreading the pills out over an hour or so while you are sipping instead of all at once.  May be able to get some "breakfast" in too.  Just for the first couple of weeks any way.   XXOO  and  welcome to the bench!!!
