Got my approval from Medica

Hello, I got great news today.......after 6 weeks of losing paperwork and re-faxing and calling everyday I got approved.  Abbott NW Bariatric Center has been great to work with.  Per the centers advice, I have been going forward like everything was OK and was on my way to my Pre Op class today and decided to call Medica this morning and was told the Medical Director had approved my surgery.  Yipeee!  My surgery is on Dec. 18th with Dr. Leslie.  I originally had scheduled with Ikramuddin but he will be out of the country to I had the option of using Dr. Leslie.  I met with him this week and was really impressed with him.  He worked with Ikramuddin and uses the same techniques and is very knowledgable.  I had a list of 20 questions I wanted answers to and he was great with all of them.  I left the office with no doubts.  He spent a very long time with me learning who I was and what I expected out of this surgery and my history of weight loss (along with my 20 questions).  I was borderline (BMI of 39) for my insurance company  with no life threatening morbitites (yet) so it could have gone either way.  I feel blessed to have been given this opportunity to start my life anew at age 59.
