I'd have thunk! A few years ago when I was having trouble falling asleep, my doctor recommended popping a couple Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc pills before I lay me down to sleep.  Worked like a charm. Here's my tip: I have set alarms on my Palm Pilot to remind me to take supplements and a prescription at different times during the day.   Take care.

Never thought of that angle of it-but yeah......it works!  I take my calcium in the morning with my multi vitamin and prozac-with milk because I hate to eat first thing in the a.m......then I take my iron and vitamin c at night along with my baby asprin (yes, the doc ok'd the baby one) and sometimes a sleeping pill.  I keep a bottle of b12 tablets by my computer at work, and another one at home so I don't forget to take it at least once a week, sometimes more.  Getting a regimen going for taking those supplements is so important!

My tip would be-keeping small cans of tuna, chicken, or salmon at work in my desk for those days that I forget to pack a lunch, or just get the hungries-having a good protein source really helps!  Jerky is good, but it has so much salt-anybody out there tried making their own with less/no salt?  I would love to know how.... Thanks Ali!

I journal my food and excercise on dailyplate.com It helps me keep honest about what goes in my mouth (most of the time).........but when I put in my weight & height it gave me a really high calorie allowance.  So, I lowered my weight (on the site!!) and got a lower daily calorie allowance. I've gotten a bit obsessive about making sure I've journaled. Dang, just one more thing ot obsess about!!!  Just goes to show, we had stomach surgery, not brain surgery!!! Hugs, pat

My tip: I talk to the people around me about the stuff I'm struggling with and ask for help and open the door for discussing it.  Right now I'm having problems with eating enough, remembering to take my vitamins, and remembering to take my medicine.  I have someone who checks in with me about once a week to see how I'm feeling and asks about food, vitamins and medicine.  I know randomly, at any time, I might be asked. It's embarassing and frustrating at first, and there's always the risk of having others turn into my food cops, but by letting others know I'm having a hard time, I've got my own little cheering section.  It feels more like I'm getting helped than being picked on when I'm the one who started the conversation.  The reinforcement, good or bad, is encouragement to keep me on track.

I journal with memory minder, it's a book I bought at amazon, someone on OH uses it also. So when you can't always use a computer it's a little spiral book that you can carry around and chart food, exercise, and vitamins, I love it!
