OT: Love St. Paul?
The Rebuilding Together Twin Cities has been selected to be one of ten cities to participate in HGTV’s Change the World. Start at HomeSM community revitalization and environmental cause-related campaign. Campaign partners include Rebuilding Together (our National organization), the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Natural Resources Defense Council.
The projects that were selected for the Twin Cities:
Home of Kris and Tom Nelson After her husband passed away 18 months ago, Kris Nelson’s dreams of restoring their three-story Victorian era home were put on hold. She and her two sons hope to be able to complete their home with a helping hand from HGTV, Rebuilding Together and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Wilder Recreation Center and City Academy School administrators at City Academy teach their students the importance of giving back to the community through volunteering and caring for the environment. But without a much-needed facelift, the growth of the school and neighboring community center is stunted by space and environmental limitations.
Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary A former rail yard, the Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary is a 27-acre natural area that provides habitat for a variety of flora and fauna indigenous to St. Paul. Gradual restoration of the natural space and removal of the man-made intrusions will help improve the sanctuary.
