Hey all! I know that my posts are few and far between, but I really enjoy reading everything that goes on here.  You all are great!   I just wanted to share a little something I came up with this weekend, while I was playing in the kitchen!  Do you know all those yummy dip mixes that everyone loves to dip crackers, veggies and other stuff into?  Well, I have found a version for all you protein craving WLS folks!  Get whatever dip mix you like.  (I am a fan of the tasefully simple ones, if I am not concocting my own.)  Take your 2% Cottage Cheese from kemps and give it a whirl in your food processor until smooth and then add your dip ingredients.  Voila!  High protein yummy goodness.  It ends up being tangier than if you use mayo and/or sour cream, but is is sure tasty.  Even my hubby liked it.  I just finished my fifth nutritionist appt today and I am excited that next month is the last one before I submit to insurance!  So look for more of these crazy tips and ideas coming from me as I get ready for the flip side!!!  :) Jeanne

That sounds like a GREAT recipe.  You think the fat free cottage cheese would be okay too?

Thanks, can't wait for more!

I think it would be ok as long as there wasn't excess whey (the liquidy stuff) in it.  If there is a lot of whey, then drain it off  and try it.  It wouldn't hurt!  :)

Wow, wouldn't it be fun to start a WLS cooking Group?  Just a thought or at least exchange great receipes

That would be sooooooooooo fun!  My husband is trying to get me to write a WLS cookbook.  He thinks it is the way to make my millons.  (probably better than the lottery tickets that I have been trying thus far!)

That's a downright AWESOME idea!!!  I always buy 1% cottage cheese, but heck - pop that in my Bullet and YAY!!!   I have a load of dip mixes - some from Tastefully Simple, some from Homemade Gourmet, some from At Home America, some from craft shows....  NOW I think I may actually get to try them!  THANKS, JEANNE!!!
