Communion

I, too, took communion the first week after surgery, without thinking.  Our church uses flat bread, so it is not a dough-y as regular bread, but not quite as crisp as a wafer.  I realized partway through and stopped myself from swollowing so I could chew some more. I did have some issues with the wine, however. Since then, I have taken just a small nibble of the flatbread that I am given and a small sip of the wine and put the remaining piece of the bread into the little cup I'm provided for the wine, and placed that back into the tray.  Seems to work for me.  Best advice, however, is to check with your doctor about it.
