FEBRUARY 9th!!! SNOW TUBING AT ELM CREEK!!!

I would love to go! Thanks for organizing! You're always organizing. Next year, I'll organize something - but it has to wait until after school's over. 11 MORE DAYS! UGH - 11 more days - I'll never get everything done!
Anyway, I vote for AFTER Christmas - no money or time before. I vote for dinner in the Chalet - cuz it's just easier. A Saturday afternoon/evening sounds great.
Okay, now that I've committed to going, I have to tell you that I haven't been tubing since high school. The reason is because the one and ONLY time I went, I thought it would be a good idea to go over one of the jumps in my tube. Not a good idea. Not a good idea AT ALL! I had no idea how to hang onto the tube once I flew off the jump. Therefore, I landed (as I was flayling my arms and legs) on my side. I knocked the wind out of myself and don't remember anything until I arrived at the end of the hill. I could hear my sister screaming at me to see if I was okay (she was still at the top of the hill) She got to me and said "Are you broken?" "Are you okay?" I had no idea which end was up, I never got checked but I'm pretty sure I fractured a rib. To top it off, after we went into the Chalet so I could recover, I found out that I lost the keys to the car. We searched for a half hour and finally called my dad only to then discover that the keys were in the sleeve of my jacket. IYEYIYI! What a fiasco. I promise not to bring that Karma with to this event.
Okay, I've been procrastinating for almost 2 hours...I must get thee writing now!
Well, schweetheart, I will orient you all to the basic rules of tubing a la Elm Creek. 1) Now that we all have littler asses, NEVER LET YOUR ASS SLIP THROUGH THE TUBE TO THE BOTTOM WHERE IT'S ACTUALLY DRAGGING ON THE SNOW. If you hit a bump and there isn't a pocket of air between your butt and the snow, IT HURTS.
2) There are 2 or 3 handle straps on each tube. HANG ONTO THEM! This should help prevent becoming separated from your tube. I'm sure that smarted. The tube will act as a bumper and protect you when you bump things that aren't soft. Such as the hard-packed snow/ice barriers they construct between the lanes. (Think bumber-cars) 3) Keep your knees bent/flexed. If you should bounce off one of the above mentioned barriers feet first, you do NOT want to jam your stiff legs into them. Either cross the legs, or use them as shock absorbers. Not battering rams. 4) Keep your head up. We don't want to knock all that hard-earned knowledge out of it! I'm sure there are more helpful hints for the happy tuber, but these are the biggies.

Oh, this sounds like fun! I am bummed I've missed the other outings.
My vote is for after Christmas, I should be cast free then. Can't quite fit my casted foot into a boot right now and this early snow, though very beautiful, sucks for me.
Eating in the Chalet sounds good as does late Saturday afternoon. I'll bring the hubby and kids. This sounds like a blast! Stacie BTW - Darla you are looking great!!!!!
