Welcome! As other's have said - the test itself may take a while but the psych uses the information to see if you are mentally ready for all the changes.  Mine also wanted to make sure that I had a good support network, and that I was ready for any changes in relationships that might happen, and gave suggestions to help with that.  He/She also will probably help you with any other issues that you have.  For example, I smoked, so he helped me with issues with quitting....not that it lasted much past surgery, but it helped for the 4-5 months prior to surgery.  Best of luck to you on your journey, and be sure to keep us updated on your progress!
