Silverware and plates

I am wondering if any of you use baby sized plates and eating utensils and if so where did you find them.  I am trying to get all the things I will need post-op and while I know I won't need the plate and silverware until a week or so after I would rather have it on hand than have to go out shopping for it when I find that I do need it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I bought a package of plastic dishwasher-safe baby "silverware" at Target, which has lasted well over a year.  I also bought small bowls and ramekins from a regular kitchen store (2 oz ramekins and 1C bowls with lids).  For regular "plates", I use the small plates (I suppose they were intended for salads or bread/butter) that came with my regular dinnerware set.  I still use them, and it keeps my portions where they should be.  Good luck to you!

I never used baby-sized silverware. Always used regular. I used a saucer for a plate and now use a salad plate. That way I did not have to buy any new stuff.  If you want,  you could use the disposable plastic baby fork and spoon sets at wal-mart or target about 3 bucks for 6 of each. Best of luck in your surgery, Karen

I purchased 1-ounce "cups" and plastic "tester" spoons off the internet and used them for the first 6 weeks.  Now I use my dessert forks and teaspoons and smalled size plates and bowls.

I used, use the small saucers and dessert plates and regular silverware.  I also bought the gladware in the 1/2c & 1 cup sizes to help with measuring. Tammy

I saved dishes and silver from when my kids were little. I knew (hoped) grandchildren would come along....and they did. The grandkids used the kid dishes so that's why I still had them. Target carries small plastic spoons and forks and plates & bowls. I'm 9 months since surgery and still use the little forks. It keeps me from eating to fast.

I use small dessert plates....corelle or paper.....also sauce dishes for bowls. I also use the baby silverware from Walmart. It is dishwasher safe and works well for me. connie d

I went to the thrift store and bought a whole bunch for 10 cents a piece. I carry them in my purse, have some at home some in my desk at work and even some in my car. I just used the small disches that came with my dishes and small sauce bowl. YOu can by the JR forks at walmart . If I pick up a regular spoon or knife now they seem huge.
